Velo Orange Piolet Frameset – Off the Beaten Track The Piolet is Velo Orange’s versatile frame designed for bikepacking and rough-road adventures. Perfect for off-road touring, it excels on dirt and gravel roads, double tracks, and single tracks. Built to be sturdy, simple, and highly capable, the Piolet features double butted chromoly steel construction, with a triple butted fork for reduced weight and added strength. Its unique mono-stay wishbone seatstays complement the segmented fork, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. The frameset is equipped with multiple bosses, allowing for easy attachment of racks, water bottles, gear cages, and fenders. Whether set up for bikepacking or as a traditional rack-and-bag tourer, the Piolet adapts effortlessly. Handling like an XC mountain bike with a slight nod towards touring, the Piolet performs smoothly with both drop bars and flat bars.
